The VX-7 Commander application is a software package for programming the Yaesu VX-7R.
A programming cable is required to interface with a PC.
You must open a profile file for the radio before any importing can occur. This can be done by opening a *.vx7 file or, if you have not downloaded the radio for the first time, you should do that first and save that file.
A progress box will appear as the radio is downloaded.
The VX-7 Commander software can import in CSV, TravelPlus TPE, VX5 .EXE, VX-5 .RDF, and .VX2 formats. It can export in CSV format only.
Repeaterbood default is BOLD. Headers are included as the field names shown below.

Import the data into CHIRP and then massage the data there as a master file. For example, CHIRP defaults to setting the power to the L1. I'll go line by line and change the power to my preferred settings. Once that is all squared away, I will save an image of the configuration. That image can be used to create settings for any other radio you own that is supported by CHIRP. With that procedure, you are well on your way to programming all of your radio as similarly as possible.
If you would also like to use the VX-7 Commander software, save your work as a *.img file and then as a file as a *.vx7 file. Open the *.vx7 file with VX-7 Commander.
