Yaesu ADMS-11
The **ADMS-11** software allows you to edit memory channel frequencies, channel info, alpha tags, and transceiver settings for the Yaesu FT3DR/DE. It provides easy configuration via a personal computer.
Sometimes, users want to combine multiple RepeaterBook search exports into a single memory file for their radio. This involves using spreadsheet editing software, such as Microsoft Excel.
Please note, the radio includes a micro-USB cable, but this is only for firmware updates, **not for programming**. To program the radio, you’ll need a separate cloning cable, which costs around $25.
An alternative method for programming the radio is with a microSD card. A [|microSD card]] is not included with the radio but can be purchased separately.
We recommend using RT Systems programming software as the easiest and most reliable option for programming your radio. Using Excel to manipulate repeater data before importing it into programming software can cause many issues. RT Systems software is hassle-free and comes with excellent customer support, making it a much better alternative.
Importing / Exporting
900 memory channels.
To import the RepeaterBook export into the ADMS software, use the File >> Import option from the menu bar at the top.
Troubleshooting Errors
When the export is conducted from RepeaterBook.com, the file may automatically open in Excel. If any column contains values like “#NAME?” then you cannot use Excel to manipulate the data. Usually, the culprit is Column F, where the offset symbols with “+” and “-” are used. Excel attempts to convert that to a formula and fails. Saving the file will corrupt that column and cause it to fail on import.
**Do not edit and save the file in Excel.**
When the file opens in Excel, close it without saving it. Import it directly from the Downloads folder. Editing must be done in a program such as Notepad.

Programming and Firmware
Cable
Yaesu SCU-19 cable is required.
- Turn the radio off.
- Connect the cable to DATA port.
- Press and hold the [DISP] key while turning on the radio. (“CLONE” will appear on the display).
MicroSD Card (Preferred Method)
Maximum MicroSD card size is 32 GB.
Reading and Writing Data on the MicroSD Card with the Radio:
- Turn the radio on. “SD” should display on the upper portion of the display.
- Ordered List ItemHold the [DISP] key until the menu appears.
- Select “SD Card.”
- Ordered List ItemSelect “BACKUP” and press the [DISP] key.
- Ordered List ItemUse the touch screen to select “OK” twice. The [DISP] key will cancel.
Reading and Writing Data on the MicroSD card with the ADMS-11 Software:
- Click “Communications” from the toolbar.
- Select the needed MicroSD card option from the menu.
- Ordered List ItemFiles are stored on the MicroSD card in the FT3D >> BACKUP folder as BACKUP.dat
Multiple files can be stored here, but only the file named “BACKUP.dat” will be read by the radio. This gives you the flexibility to store multiple configurations on the card and just change their names as needed.
Procedure with File Editing
* Complete a search on RepeaterBook and export the data. If Microsoft Excel is installed on your computer, the file may automatically open with Excel
* Change the extension to .txt.
* Using Excel, open the file.
* Using the Text Import Wizard, select Comma as the delimiter and the column with "+RPT" and "-RPT" as a Text data format.
* You can renumber Column A as desired but rows 1 - 900 MUST be present.
* Make sure there is a "0" in column BB of any newly added rows.
* Save the file as a .CSV.
There is an alternative method for editing in Excel. After the file downloads:
* It is possible to edit the file with Excel. Column F is the potential issue. This is the repeater Offset Direction field with "-RPT", "+RPT", "-/+", and "OFF" as possible values. Any field with a leading operator such as "-" and "+" will be interpreted by Excel as a faulty equation and will display "#NAME?". If the file is saved while "#NAME?" is displayed, the original offset value will be overwritten with "#NAME?" and cause the file to error when imported into the programming software. ALL of column F must be manually adjusted before saving the file.
* You can renumber Column A as desired but rows 1 - 900 MUST be present.
* Make sure there is a "0" in column BB of any newly added rows.
* Save the file as a .CSV.
