Notes: | 300' AGL on a ridgeline. Analog Users: Set your radio to encode and decode a 100.0 PL. This will keep you from hearing the digital noise when digital users are on the air, but will still allow you to hear analog users. In addition to listening out for activity before transmitting, you must now look out for activity also. If the signal meter and busy light indicate a signal is present but you can't hear anything then there is digital activity on the repeater. If you have priority traffic you may still break in by keying up in between transmissions just as you would do if there were analog traffic. Digital Users: It's a good idea to also set your radio to encode and decode a 100.0 PL. This way when the radio is in the fixed FM mode you will not hear the digital noise either. When using digital, your radio must be set to auto receive. This will allow your radio to switch back to analog and allow you to hear an analog user that may need to break in with priority traffic. |
