This codeplug can only be used on the new 2018 DM-5R Plus V3. This radio is Tier II.

Uses a different CPS and programming cable then the other Baofeng radios.

The CPS software:
CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+5 = DMR5R

Using CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F11 = SG009
in the main CPS will open up fields on the Basic Information tab for editing.
allow a new Freq range of: 400-520 / 136-174
Also allows you to change the Model and Serial Number.

drive.google.com/open?id=1D3F5seuBX08DsPyG3dyWY2gvx2YFA4KD

The firmware software:
CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F11 = SG009

drive.google.com/open?id=1FayEMCMA-25W_kiPf06RHbxHFsckp3ms

For those that want a base codeplug:

Analogue and Digital - GMRS / FRS / PMR / MURS / Weather / etc....

I started adding DMR network and will repost when I am done. I will only be adding Wa,Or,Id,Nv.

File Attachment:

File Name: 0618_153504v1.0.zip
File Size:6 KB

NOTE:

Some things I have found out about the radio so far.
Some of these may be Operator Headspace and timing errors, but i doubt it.

The scan function of the radio doesn't seem to work.
I have tried only analog channels, in a zone/not in a zone, in a scan list/not in a scan list.
Same with digital channels.
Same with a mix of analog and digital channels.
All gets a "Scan Forbid".
If you tag the channels with Auto Scan, you get a "Scan Fail".

If anyone figures out what I'm doing wrong, please let me know.

----> UPDATE: In the MENU screen of the CPS, DOUBLE STANDBY has to be set to Double Single for scan to work.

Other Issues Found:

Deleted because firmware updates fixed the issues.
Deleted because Operator error.

I have not been able to activate the attachment..
I regularly unzip files so I'm not sure what error I'm making.
When I click on the paperclip attachment symbol nothing happens.
Tnx again

In the CPS you can add a hotkey shortcut to the Zones menu.

The reason you are getting scan forbid is you dont have a scan list setup. Also turn off autoscan and doube/double wait. This looks just like the cps for my gd-77.

I just got this radio about a week ago with no programming cable. I am new with DMR so learning CPS is in my short term plan to use this radio and others like it. We have a local DMR repeater run by a club close by that I’m looking to join.

I had a couple of questions here though and I’m just trying to get some answers. Since the radio did not come with a programming cable and it does indeed use a different cable than the analog radios, has anyone tried to make their own USB cable for this radio? I tried to using a pin out from the old programming cable (K1 side) and paired it to a standard USB using the 3 pin outs I found explained for the RD-5R. Long story short, I was told when plugging in this radio into the USB port of my computer that I needed to be patient for the computer to recognize it as a Mouse Demo device. Well I left it connected to my computer over night and it never got recognized. What am I doing wrong or what should be done for this to get recognized by the OS? I’m running Windows 10 on my laptop and this hasn’t been a problem before with any other device. Is there some sort of procedure to getting this radio recognized?

Thanks,
Steve

I am fortunate to read this posts after searching my problem being the same and I did find a manual from radiooddity that showed how to set your scan for the DM-5R their RD-5R is very smilar to the DM-5R.

I have a DM-5R and I unchecked double wait and set the scan lists. However the scanning only goes on the 1st scanlist that conatins 16 channels. I have 7 s canlists that each have at elast 16 channels. How do I make my radio scan all 128 channels?

Thanks!

As far as I know, you can only use one scanlist at a time.

I have a new version of the DM-5R+. I works fine using my hotspots, I use both a single hat and dual hat hotspots. My problem is with a local DMR repeater. I can transmit to the repeater and listen on my Anytone 878, sounds fine... When I transmit from the Anytone back through the repeater I get no audio or DMR ID on the DM-5R+. The repeater has no offset. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated. 73's Dave

Post a screen shot of a relevant channel screen from your CPS and I'll see if I notice any errors. At the same time, provide the location and call sign of the repeater you're trying to use, so I can compare your settings with any available information online. IME, the most common cause of DMR reception problems on the DM-5R and it's brother, the RD-5R is an incorrectly configured Rx Group List, or a channel setup that does not select an appropriate RX Group List.

W9LW, I found the issue... The repeater did have an offset of 5 MHz and with my old eyes, I didn't see it in the CPS. All works now! Thanks for the fast response.

I suspected as much, when you wrote, "The repeater has no offset." That's why, in addition to the screen shot, I asked you to identify the repeater you were trying to use. The only repeaters that transmit and receive on the same frequency are "store and forward" devices that are pretty unusual (if even existent) in amateur radio digital voice communication.
