The repeater has pretty good coverage for Onslow County and the surrounding areas/beaches. It utilizes a split DPL/PL tone to cut down on interference. The PL tone is not needed to use the repeater, but the DPL of 315 is required. I put this repeater on the same antennas as two other amateur radio repeaters and they all three perform very well. I do not have plans to change the DPL to PL, but will if I receive enough interest.
This repeater has been on the air for a few years. My wife and I used it exclusively, but we haven't used it much lately and I felt that it would better serve the community if I advertised that it is available for all GMRS license holders.
Update (10 Nov 2017)
This repeater is now part of the "NC Linking Initiative" and is connected to the Stone Mountain 550 repeater in the Western part of the state.
